Cape Ann Farmer's Market - Snakes Exhibit and Kids Art Project 8-31-2017
It was a spectacular day for the Cape Ann Farmers Market today at Stage Fort Park. We featured our Snakes of New England and the World Exhibit along side Art Haven folks who helped with a Kids Art Project painting these fun wooden flexible snakes. We were on a knoll overlooking Gloucester harbor and it really couldn't have been much better than that. For those of us who live here we are lucky to have such a beautiful place to hang our hats... and people travel from around the country and the world to visit our home. Likewise we had a native snake display and a bunch of other snakes from around the world too. So the correlation is interesting - native people and native snakes, worldly people and worldly snakes. It's nice we get to meet both species of travelers at the Market.
Our Team of volunteers were aplenty and we were able to help all the visitors hold snakes and educate the public about what we're about. Thanks to our volunteers including Marion Healey, Genevieve Healey, Kayla Saltonstall, Anne Rosenfeld, Colleen Anderson, Ann Byers, Wilhelmina Rolf Thaemert, Victoria Rolf, and Rick. And thank you Tracy and Cathy from Art Haven for helping the kiddos paint wooden bendy snakes.
