Cape Ann Vernal Pond Team

About Us

The Cape Ann Vernal Pond Team was established in 1990, with the goal of documenting vernal ponds throughout Cape Ann to officially certify them with the Natural Heritage & Endangered Species Program (NHESP) which is part of the Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife. The Cape Ann Vernal Pond Team became a 501(c)(3), tax-exempt charitable organization in 2006. That's the really short version of our story.

We are passionate about showing people vernal ponds and the critters that rely on them. We think that when you know about vernal pools, you’ll want to protect them. Check out the links in the box to learn more about us and Our Vision!

The Cape Ann Vernal Pond Team is a membership organization – please join. More importantly, we thrive because so many people are willing to get involved and help out. Attend one of our activities such as a Vernal Pond Field Trip, make a Donation, or come to a fund raising event and lend a hand. Our Team wants your help. Get on our Mailing list, become a Member, and start coming to our Activities.

You mean the world to us, and we’re waiting for your help!
