Crane Estate for The Trustees of Reservations - Snakes of New England and the World Presentation  5-20-2018

Nice show at the Crane Estate on Sunday. Perfect weather, great crowd. What a spectacular setting for our Snakes of New England and the World Presentation. It doesn't get much better than being at the beautiful Crane Estate on the Grand Allée (long rolling lawn to the ocean) by the old Casino grounds. We actually did the presentation in the grassy center of the tiled in rectangle of the old pool. Pretty cool venue on a nice sunny day with lots of interested people coming to see and hear our Snakes Presentation.

We brought along about thirty snakes and Rick did his magic and stories about where they come from and their habits and habitat around the world. Thanks to our volunteers Stella Allen, Wilhelmina Rolf Thaemert, Victoria Rolf, Colleen Anderson, and Keith Bertone who made our show such a pleasure for everyone. Also thanks to Dorothy Antczak who not only avidly volunteered, but invited us again this year.

This is our gracious hostess Dorothy who invites us to this event every year.
I think she has more fun than just about anyone!

This is our newest Volunteer Stella who didn't know she was a snake lover until she joined us. She helped a bunch of folks get up close and personal with our snakes.

Wilhelmina

and

Stella...

I
used
to
think
having
young
people
volunteer
made
it
easier
for
the
kids
to
handle
the
critters
but
now
I
know
the
adults
think...
how
can
I
refuse
if
these
ten
year
olds
can
do
it!

An albino python just taking a stroll through the Crane Estate.
Totally normal.

As you can see below... from sheer excitement and terror... to pride and bliss!

Keith is another of our Volunteers and he knows an awful lot about snakes...
he has a bunch of snakes of his own too...
He's holding Evilyn, the white lipped python, like a baby!

Just another Sunday Funday!
