  • 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
  • Meet at the Jacob Cemetery parking lot, on Fernald Street in West Gloucester, MA 01930

Family Vernal Pool Outing hosted by Essex County Greenbelt Association (ECGA). RSVP with egca.org on their website. FREE.

Come have some fun and enjoy an interactive afternoon learning about vernal pools! Join us as we search for different egg masses and organisms that can be found in the pools at the Tompson Street Reservation in Gloucester. This monthly walk will be in partnership with the Cape Ann Vernal Pond Team, led by Rick Roth. We will meet at the Jacob Cemetery parking lot, on Fernald Street in West Gloucester.

This will be a family-friendly event and interactive walk perfect for children and adults of all ages! The group will walk about a half-mile into the Tompson Street Reservation to a large vernal poool. Once at the vernal pool, you will be able to venture around the edges and look for a variety of fascinating egg masses and organisms under Rick's direction.

The Tompson Street Reservation is the largest property within the Greenbelt Reservation system, and consists of vernal pools, woodlands and many old wagon trails, which offer perfect locations to witness vernal pool life up close.
