Vernal Pool Exploration - Cape Ann Vernal Pond Team Director Rick Roth will explore a vernal pool not far down the path off Andrews St in Essex. We’ll be looking for frogs, salamanders, and shrimp along with whatever else we find in the ponds and woods on the path. There are over 200 vernal ponds on Cape Ann alone so with a little knowledge from Rick you’ll be ready to explore other ponds on your own.

This will be a family-friendly event perfect for children and adults of all ages! Once at the vernal pool, you will be able to venture around the edges and look for a variety of fascinating egg masses and organisms under Rick's direction.
