The Sidewalk Bazaar... kind of toasty on Friday, and maybe that's the reason the event wasn't as well attended as in years past. We were still busy... because we had all those cool snakes. Thanks volunteers!
Just checked the weather and while there are some scattered thundershowers predicted in the area, we will be under our tents. So... its a go. We will be there for setup at about 7:30 tomorrow morning.
Come down and volunteer
And... on Monday, after checking turtle traps in a wetland in West Gloucester for over a month... we finally caught a turtle. 12" snapper. He was quite angry about the whole thing. But, hey... at least we got a turtle. He got to go free again anyway.

We had an exceptionally lovely snake show at Riverfest on Saturday in Sudbury. Great weather, great crowd and a great bunch of volunteers to complete the trifecta. Thanks to Gerry Swislow, Annette Huskins, Colleen Anderson, Jon and Diane Bevins and Mike Zaborowski. Really a fun time.
This Saturday is Riverfest on June 16. We will be Presenting Snakes of New England and the World at Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge Headquarters in Sudbury from 1:00 - 2:00pm. More information on our Activity Calendar. You can find more information in their online brochure by scrolling down to Saturday, Sudbury, #16 Fishing and Family Festivities. We need some help with this one so let me know if you can volunteer.
We were in Marblehead Monday doing our Snakes of New England and the World Presentation for about 70 kids from the Devereux School and Devereux at Waring School. We had great weather so we held the show outside with about 25 of our snakes. Great snakes and they were lucky enough to spend time bonding with the kids. Thanks to our volunteers: Stella Allen, Ella Strong, Wilhelmina Rolf Thaemert and Victoria Rolf.
